Mad River Valley Catholic Community Capital Campaign Fund
Preserving Our Heritage, Building Our Future
Our Valley Catholic Community is blessed with three properties that were built by the sacrifices of those founders and benefactors for whom Founders' hall is named. St. Patrick's, Our Lady of the Snows and Founders' Hall have served us well and stand as focal points of our faith.
Maintenance and care of these properties has been accomplished through a combination of contributions and volunteer services. Recently the Parish Finance/Buildings Committee examined each structure and learned that over time some larger needs and replacement projects have developed.
As good stewards, it is our responsibility to preserve these buildings as inspiration and places to worship for future generations. For the first time ever in the history of our community, we are embarking on a $90,000 capital campaign to address needs beyond those which can be met through ordinary contributions. Attached is information regarding Parish finances and specific projects. Please join us in supporting the work and faith of those who gave what we have today, so that our gift will help the faithful of tomorrow.
Pastor's Message
Dear friend,
Greetings, and thank you for taking the time to consider a gift to the Capital Campaign Fund for the Mad River Valley Catholic Community, centered in St. Patrick's Church in Moretown and Our Lady of the Snows in Waitsfield.
The properties mentioned above have served both the residents of the Valley, as well as countless visitors, for years. St. Patrick's, the oldest church, was built in 1882. Our Lady of the Snows opened in 1964 and Founders' Hall was dedicated in 1981. From these properties, numerous Catholics have received the spiritual nourishment and foundation for their lives. Furthermore, Founders' Hall has served as a local meeting space for various groups and other local activities. It was built with this purpose in mind.
The Mad River Valley Catholic Community now faces the challenge of keeping the building up-to-date, safe and user-friendly. Completion of the projects listed in this brochure will ensure the viability of these buildings for years to come. I ask that you give serious thought to a gift, to be spread out over a three year pledge, so that you may help us continue to serve both the residents and visitors of the Mad River Valley. God bless you all.
Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. Bernard W. Bourgeois
Pastor
